OK, too easy...  so what's the version number on the PalmRez Settings screen in CW5 
used for?

BTW, Thanks a lot! I was meticulously going through all the PDF files reading 
paragraphs returned by a search on "version", sooner
or later I would have gotten to the Constructor manual but you saved me a bunch of 
time (and, Gawd, I'm getting to hate Acrobat!

The application's version string is simply a resource, like a bitmap
or an icon. The resource type is 'tver'. If you're using PilRC, put
this in the resource source (.rcp) file:

   VERSION ID 1000 "2.0"
