The suggestion that the workaround is a viable solution shows lack of
understanding, not the 8 day delay. And, yes it is possible to turn
around critical compiler bug fixes in less than 8 days. Guess basic
compiler bugs are not viewed as critical.

Then why was such a fundamental bug not caught? It seems obvious that
this release would have never passed even the simplest of regression
tests.

I am not here to accumulate merit points. I would rather promote the idea
that 'professional' quality development tools are required for the Palm
platform.
