If you are using Windows......
and if you are at a place for input from the keyboard...(and if you have an
ASCII chart (the IBM-PC version) and the character you want is in the chart)...hold
the Alt key down while typing the ASCII number on the numeric keypad. When you let go
of the Alt key, the character should show up (this will work in other Windows and DOS
programmes as well). And that also assumes that the programmes doesn't map
characters....
On a Mac....
My memory is a bit fuzzy here, but it seems there is a control panel that
will show the keyboard with the current font and as you hold down the command, shift
and control characters, the display changes with what can be found on the keyboard....
