The purpose of this mailing list is to provide a lasting forum for
new and experienced Palm developers to ask questions, furnish
solutions, present ideas, and otherwise exchange information
with the intent of enhancing the quality of the developer
community.
In other words, it is a method for you, the developers, to keep
in touch with each other and the community at large. We hope
that the end result will be better software and more
knowledgeable developers.
Several Palm employees also participate in the list, and
provide information and tips as appropriate and necessary.
MAILING LIST TIPS AND ETIQUETTE
When responding to someone's question, please consider whether
it is appropriate to respond to the list at large or directly to the
individual. Though we may not all speak up, we might be interested
in the answer.
Include a snippet from the original sender's email when writing a
response in order to keep the discussion in context. Quoting only
the applicable text will save time and space.
Before sending a question out on the list, we recommend you
first look at our Web site (http://www.palm.com/devzone/) to
see if the answer already has been provided there. There are
lists of the most frequently asked questions (FAQs), docs,
technical articles, marketing assistance, and much more.
Write meaningful Subject lines. This is particularly useful when
scanning old archives.
Avoid sending "me too" or "I agree" messages to the entire list.
These should be sent directly to the original sender.
Finally, please insure that your mail server allows for list server mail.
Many mail
services utilize anti-spam features that block list server mailings.
