I also don't see where PrefGetAppPreferences is returning a version number
either? I'm looking in the 3.0 Reference.pdf file, and only the
PrefGetAppPrefernecesV10 seems to have version parameter, which seems to be
an input. Can you give us an example of getting the version number?

PrefGetAppPreferences returns the version.

Only one pref record is saved (per creator/ID pair), and the version number
you pass to PrefSetAppPreferences is the one that will be returned when you
call PrefGetAppPreferences.

This version may be useful for detecting when the application itself has
been updated and you're reading preferences that might have been saved by a
previous version of the app.
