Well spoken. I'm in the same boat.
I've written software for 27 years in a lot of contexts, but
I've written palm software only since I bought my first one 21 days ago.
Experience is a vector! It has many components.

Now here's my solution:

Each subject line should start with:

[NEW]
[PRO] or
[META]

to indicate that they are asking a novice, pro, or meta question
or whatever.
Instead of people writing an apology in e-mails of a basic
nature, they just prepend [NEW] to they're subject line.
That way it can be skipped by the pros, and vice versa.
And if an item is about the management of the list,
like this one, then [META] is prepended to show that
it has no info of any value to palm developers.
