Thanks, JK. I followed your suggestions and had a a successful morning of
debugging without any unexpected quits. This looks like the right
combination for Mac OS 8.5.1.
I assume that there are still problems using R5+patch+update and POSE
2.1d26 with Mac OS 8.6. Is that correct?
