I am soon to undertake a development project for the PalmPilot III (or
greater)
in which a database of approximately 300 customers will be used.
A job will be entered against a customer, with relevant details
recorded,
to be returned to the main DB at the end of each working day.
The source for this data will be from our main Oracle DB.
I plan to evaluate the options available. Those that I am aware of at
the moment are:
a) Oracle Consolidator & Satellite Forms
b) Oracle Lite for Palm OS & Custom App.
c) Custom Data Conduit & Custom App.
The 'Custom App' & 'Custom Conduit' could be developed in
a) CodeWarrior for Palm OS
b) GCC
The specification for the data entry GUI (Custom App), however it is
developed.
Basic Outline:
1) Select a customer
2) View/Edit Customer Details
3) Create/Edit Order/Invoice for Customer and Save
What other options are there for development on the Palm OS?
What suggestions can anyone offer, regarding large databases on the Palm
Pilot.
I have viewed Oracle's 'FixIt' demo. Are there other demonstrations of
what I need to
achieve out there?
