Sorry to jump in, but you asked for feedback....<g>
PQA support on III and V series, assuming the end user would be willing to
outfit them with a wireless modem. Limit the modem support, limit the
network support, whatever, that's fine. Even if you have to impose some
limitations on the PQA's themselves, that's probably OK too. We are seeing
that customers will accept the limitations as long as you tell them exactly
what equipment they need to buy. The big thing is to gain the assurance
from Palm Computing that the PQA apps we develop work on more than just the
VII. Of course we could develop alternate solutions for non-VII devices
using existing technologies from other vendors (AvantGo, for example), but
ideally we would focus on the PQA standard.
I'm probably asking for the moon, but I believe these improvements would
truly promote the whole platform (not just one device) and give developers
the assurance that their solution will work the widest variety of devices
in the field.
