Open Firmware (a.k.a. IEEE 1275, the plug-and-play boot firmware used in
SPARC workstations since 1987) was also adopted as a standard by the Power
PC consortium (Apple, IBM, Motorola). It's Forth.
You can download Quartus Forth at <http://www.interlog.com/~nbridges>. The
evaluation version (software, manual, libraries, etc.) is free; the only
thing it won't do is create stand-alone applications -- that's in the
registered version ($69.95).
