I am doing the same thing. I don't think you can get away from duplicating
some functionality. As long as your not writing your own version of Address
Book, it probably isn't much.
Since the source for the Address Book ships with the Metrowerks SDK, you can
use it as a guide for writing your own code to talk to the AddressBookDB,
and interepreting the records should be simple.
