Partially true. The Exchange Manager is simply a mechanism to get data from one
place to another. How the apps use it is up to each app. For instance, the
Address Book transmits the unique ID with each record. At this point, it
ignores the unique ID. It could see if a record exists with that ID and replace
it. The concern was about replacing records with those which happen to have the
same ID.
But more sophisticated interactions need more than a data transport. There are
lot's of possibilities. Currently it is suggested that folks simply include
xxxxDB.c (like AddressDB.c).
