Non tech question: number of units sold?

I am scouring the palm.com site looking for the most recent hard figures on
how many PalmOS devices (Symbol/Palm/IBM/et al) devices have been sold up to
this date.

I know it is in excess of two million, according to a November 1998 press
release, but I was wondering if it hit the three million mark yet?

My business partner and I are pulling together a proposal and need this
info... an URL to an official Palm press release would be best.
