When you say "documentation" are you referring to the Palm OS SDK reference
manual?  If so, you are going to have a hard time figuring out how to use
fields.  You'll need additional info.  Try "Palm Programming - the
Developers Guide", O'Reilly publishing, to  get detailed info about using
fields.  There are some tricks and traps involved.
