I found the CW tutorial pretty tedious and not terribly helpful.
After the first few chapters, you get the general idea of how
to use the Constructor GUI (and how to use ctrl-K to add new
things.) You may not have this problem with a P500, but on my
old 200MMX box, I found the response time in Constructor slow
enough that it sometimes threw me off (in renaming resources,
for instance).
The O'Reilly book is much better in teaching lots of little
needed details. But it has some mistakes and is far from
a complete set of documentation.
The printed docs (the pdf files in bound format) are available
at Computer Literacy, now www.fatbrain.com . It's much easier
to read than scattered looseleaf sheets.
