I have an application which does an ExgRegisterData at the beginning of
PilotMain and also in response to a SyncNotify.
It is essentially a slightly modified version of the example app
Beamer. Instead of sending bmp files, it RECEIVES its own type, "srd" files.
This app had been running perfectly on my 6 month old Palm III when things
started going awry. The first bad sign was when I installed this app on an
older Palm III (one of the first ones made). When I ran the app and received
something, it gave the error dialog "Could not find application for data
received". I did a hard reset on the device and installed ONLY my app as a
new user with no other data. Still the same deal. I have been trying to get
IrCOMM to work lately and have recently loaded the Palm update and IrLink. I
had been using Palm Telnet and when I tried to install an app, my Palm just froze.
Did a hard reset and sync'ed it again. When the new IR libraries were
reinstalled, the "reset now" dialog came up. The Palm reset and froze at the
"Welcom to Palm III" screen. So I left the batteries out for an hour. Turned
on the Palm and did the 3 tap thing. Created a new user with NO DATA or
anything. Installed ONLY my Beamer-like app (not the new libraries or any other apps
or
data), and when I run it I get the same message when data is received by my
app - "Could not find application for data received". I am testing the return
value of ExgRegisterData and it is returning success. Has anyone had any
experiences like this with new/old Palm III's? My application is literally
the same thing as the Beamer app with only the most minor changes. And it
worked for weeks until now. Any suggestions/insights much appreciated.
