Hi,
I have a Symbol 1500 (Palm III) with the following software:
SPT1500 System v.3.0.2
HotSync v.3.0
Modem (3Com) v.3.0
NetLibrary V.3.0
Network v.3.0
I am running PalmDesktop 3.0.1. I am using HotSync 3.0.2.
I have:
Downloaded nhssetup.exe; unzipped it. From the 'Run' dialog,
executed
C:\Windows\Temp\Setupex.Exe.
No errors; no messages. Performed Local HotSync. NO apparent changes
to
Palm III HotSync application; no additional menu items; no network
support.
I CAN dial-up through 'Prefs'->'Network'->'Connect'; however, this
doesn't
allow me to HotSync...or anything else...because the "serial port is
in
use by another application."
What else can I do to get setup to do Network HotSync'ing??? HELP!!!

So, I have executed Setupex.Exe several times, and performed local HotSync's
following them. I can setup my Prefs->Network and connect successfully (as
far as I know). I do NOT see the extra menu options from the HotSync
application; I only get 'Conduit Setup...', 'Modem Setup...', and 'About
HotSync'. I DO NOT see 'Modem Sync Prefs...', 'LANSync Prefs...', nor
'Primary PC Setup...'. When I connect from the 'Prefs->Network' screen, I
cannot HotSync. I get an error about the "serial port is in use by another
application." Again, HELP! THANKS!
Any ideas, help, suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
