I have the O'reilly book and have seen the Amazon.com reviews of it, and the different
opinions expressed. As I've been reading the book, I've seen how both points of view
could have been attained. The book is nicely written and introduces very significant
concepts about programming for the Palm. Yet it doesn't define variable types,
describe the exact binary order of a resource file, or give a step-by-step definition
of how to write and compile a working program that can and should be followed exactly
(at least in the start of the book). During lunch today the thought came to mind of
flying over fields and that no matter how much one saw, more detail could easily be
imagined (there's a barn; so what's *in* the barn). I think the book is useful, good
work, and introduces the ideas involved in programming for the Palm while exceeding
the value of a beginner's book.
Have a nice day
