Beaming to Palm VII

I have an app that beams its records.  I have tested on a Palm III, 
IIIx, and V and everything seems to work fine.  Today I tested the 
app on a Palm VII and it crashed when the receiving application was 
not running and it received garbage when the receiving app was 
running.  Has anyone had strange results beaming to a Palm VII?  Any 
thoughts?
