There was a discussion the other day about preferences and whether they were deleted with the application. As long as they have the same creator ID, they are. Except there is a fly in the ointment... If you hard reset the unit, the next time you restore the unit, the prefs database is restored. But if the application itself is NOT restored at that time, then what you have is a prefs database that has prefs for that app but the app itself isn't there. If you at some time later install the app, the prefs will "magically reappear" since they were there all along, just orphaned. This wouldn't happen if the OS did some sort of periodic cleanup of the prefs database, but I take it from observation that this doesn't happen. Not a big thing, just an observation...
