PrefSetPreference

I am trying to Select an application to customize each button of the cradle
from my application
this way i get the user to come back to my application no matter what, if
the press any buttons.

PrefSetPreference(prefHard1CharAppCreator, 'SCAN');

That is how i do it.

Why is this not working?

Any suggestions
