Handspring is a licensee of Palm OS, and we're totally interested in
helping them succeed, since their success is our success, as it builds the
Palm Economy and the platform and the businesses of all of you developers.
One big happy family.

Think of it like the Palm IIIx team "versus" the Palm V team. Sure, one of
those teams might get more sales if the other team didn't exist... but only
sort of, and only in the short term. Having more great options for
customers could theoretically have a slight short-term negative effect on
any given device sales, but overall it'll be a clear positive.

And "negative effect" on Palm V sales just means the sales numbers would
climb marginally less astoundingly fast than before. :-)

This is all my opinion, of course; I don't do unit sales forcasts and am
not actually on the Palm V device team, but I think this is the opinion of
most folks around me.

Since there's so much going on in the palm-dev-forum we thought it might be
wise to move some of the more device-specific discussions into another
forum so they didn't get buried in the general Palm OS volume.
