I'm currently researching the feasibility of a project that would require
utilization the Palm VII's built in wireless receiver and BellSouth's
network. I
do not want to use Palm.Net or the proxy server that 3Com has set up, but I
want
to use my own server that would also have a wireless modem attached (using
BellSouth). The application on the palm pilot would just invoke an event on
the
server.

I have read in the SDK documentation that you should only use the INetLib
to
access the wireless modem and not the NetLib. is this true? I understand
that
the INetLib is for internet use and I do not plan on using the internet.
Also I
have read that all data transmitted through the wireless device is always
encrypted and that all packets are always sent to the 3Com proxy server
using
http. Is this implemented at the driver level? I get the indication that if
the
NetLib is used to access the wireless receiver encryption is automatically
done
along with setting the destination IP to the 3Com proxy server.

Thanks for any information
