WinGlueDrawTruncChars broken?

Now I'm trying to use WinGlueDrawTruncChars, the 3.0-compatible
PalmOSGlue.lib version of WinDrawTruncChars, to draw a string with "..."
on the end as needed.  But on Palm OS 3.0 it causes POSE to say:

    [WinGlueDrawTruncChars] tried to call Palm OS routine #A34E
    (FntWidthToOffset).  This routine does not exist
    in this version of the Palm OS. 

Uh....?
