Sure. Any app can launch any other app. You could even 
write your two smaller apps so they both use the same 
databases and app prefs. To the user the fact that they 
are two different apps would be indistinguishable, 
except for the fact that there are two icons in the 
launcher.

Remember, each smaller app would need its own unique 
creator ID.
