I'm sure this topic has been mentioned but my full text searches of all the
digests showed no hit on bitfields.
The update to Code Warrior R5 totally screwed up the debugger's
interpretation of bitfields in structures, rendering the debugger completely
useless. Is anyone else experiencing this horrendous flaw?
I did go back and re-install the original R5 which works just fine with
respect to the debugger, but it crashes on me 20-30 times a day because of
other bugs which WERE apparently fixed in the R5 update.
I downloaded the update again to be sure it was not corrupted, but it's
pretty clear this was just something they broke in the update. My problem
with Metrowerks is that every update breaks something that worked earlier,
making it an exasperating experience using their software. I'm reluctant to
upgrade to R6 because I know they'll just end up breaking all kinds of other
things that are now working :(
Has anyone else run into this same problem? If it's NOT broken, I'll have to
take some other tack to find out why the debugger is non-functional on my
machine...
