Hi!
I'm trying to communicate with a mobile phone with an OPTION International
Snap-On
GSM adapter for Palm Pilot. The hardware seems to be ok since I can retreive
SMS
messages from the phone usinge the PhoneSMS program delivered with the
Snap-On.
When I'm using my own application, sometimes I'm able to retreive the
messages but
mostly I get random behaviour like timeouts, fatal exceptions or the Palm
just hangs.
I've used examples from the palm website aswell as simply looking in the
reference
manual in the section about serial communication and it seems I'm doing it
the
right way.
Currently I'm trying to communicate with the phone after calling FrmGotoForm
to display
my first form and before calling EvtGetEvent to handle the first event. I've
also tried to
do the communication when handling a button select event or menu event but
this
doesn't help eigther.
The selected baudrate etc. should be ok for the phone since I'm porting my
application
from a WinCE platform on which it works fine with the same phone.
Obviously I'm doing something wrong so I wonder if somebody can tell me what
restrictions
there are for using the serial manager from your palm application. Any tips
are welcome!
