There was some debate at the time over the cause of this bug. By using loop-back mode
(shortcut dot t) on Poser, I checked for this bug in Palm OS 3.0, 3.1, and 3.3 beta.
The bug is in all three versions, but the behavior is slightly different in 3.3 beta.
In Palm OS 3.0 and 3.1, the databases belonging to the application being replaced are
deleted, but the preferences are kept. In Palm OS 3.3 beta, the preferences are
deleted as well.

This is a serious bug because it causes data loss and there is no warning. The
"replace existing copy" dialog makes no mention of data.

There is another minor bug related to beaming applications in Palm OS 3.0, 3.1, and
3.3 beta. When you choose the Beam command in the launcher, you choose the application
you want to beam from a list. The size of each application is shown. However, the
number shown includes the databases belonging to the application. This is
inappropriate since the databases aren't being beamed.
