Folks,
I'd like to see about getting together with other PalmOS email hackers at
PalmSource to see if there's things we can do together to make email better
on Palm devices in general. So let me propose a plan:
What: PalmOS email hackers BOF
When: Wed Oct 20, 8:00
Where: Meet at Qualcomm booth then find suitable meeting room or bar
Some topics might include:
- PalmOS support for things like generalizing mailto: URL handling,
access to stored messages and an
expanded address book interface
- Content mangling and reformatting to work on the Palm devices
- Synchronization with existing email on the server (e.g., IMAP)
- On-server filtering
I'm thinking of something very informal to start with and if there's
interest maybe it growing into something more. My personal interest in this
comes from my work on Eudora for PalmOS and on email for the pdQ smartphone.
I'll collect comments on this now and send out another email with any
updates early next week.
