I am having the same problem with my AutoSync Application.
AutoSync generates a HotSync by simulating the HotSync button press.
I guess Palm assumed that if the button is generated then the user
pressed it in the cradle so it issues "Local" sync ignoring the users
hotsync pref's for local sync which are set to IR-Sync.
This is a problem.
How can we issue a IR Sync if they assume we mean local !!!!!!

Unfortunately, even though I've set up HotSync to sync via IR,
whenever I send this launch code it starts a HotSync via DIRECT
SERIAL, and then I have to cancel and press the HOTSYNC button, which
then starts the IR sync. So, how do I start an IR HotSync
programatically? Is there another Launch code that does this? Or is
it just a bug that the sysAppLaunchCmdSyncRequestLocal launch code
doesn't check the user's HotSync setup preference before initiating
the sync.
