Writing the mail takes 5 minutes. The problem is getting the answer, which on
this side of the Atlantic takes ages. Yes! It took me over a month to get a
negative answer from 3Com stating I did not fill in the prototype site! So, I
have just resubmitted my application, and I will wait another 5 weeks to get
another answer (with my bad luck, probably I missed a coma somewhere...)
How to solve this? I don't know. Faxing documents just won't do. It's legally
the same as a photocopy. How about digital signatures? Many governments
recognise them. My government (Portuguese) recognises digital signatures. And
we're not famous for being on the edge of inovation...
Anyway, thanks David. I know you support our point, as developers, and feel the
same about legalities and technicalities. If we could *ever* get rid of lawyers
for good, life would be sooo much easier... They're a necessary evil, but an
evil nevertheless.
