Until I get R6, I guess I'll have to poke the correct attribute into the
field each time I create/draw one. I'm just surprised I couldn't find any
info about this issue anywhere (search egroups.com, etc.) hmmm.... Of
course, I forgot to check the knowlege base (my bad).

Yes, exactly. This affects Windows only and is fixed in R6.
