I am seeing a similar problem with CWR6 and POSE v2.1d29. When I hit "F5"
to debug my app, the downloading window appears, the meter goes all the way
to 100%, CW loses focus (as if it's about to switch to POSE), and CW hangs
(the last line in the log window is "STARTING gComm->LoadTarget".
POSE is still responsive, however. If I reset POSE, I get an "Unhandled
exception: c0000005 At address: 0506fe2b" messagebox from CW, which I OK,
then I get a system 'Something bad happened. Click on OK to terminate the
application.' messagebox, and I OK that, and CW shuts down. POSE is also in
a bad state at this point - it complains about the app I tried to load, and
then faults (I get the "eventually I'll change this so it just resets"
messagebox and a runtime error).
If on the other hand, instead of resetting POSE, I exit POSE, CW un-freezes,
displays a "Can't send data to Pilot." messagebox, and then dumps a load of
"error in SlkSendPacket = error code: 00AA" style messages in the Log
window.
This just started happening yesterday. I have tried
uninstalling/re-installing CW and uninstalling CW, clearing out it's
leftover registry entries, and re-installing it. Neither worked. I would
really rather not have to install a fresh copy of NT... anyone have any
suggestions?

Ted,
>From the information provided, I suspect that you are using a Palm OS 3.1 or
later ROM with POSE 2.0b3 which came with R5. 2.0b3 does not support those
ROMs. You should update your installation of R5 with patches from
www.metrowerks.com/download (search for CodeWarrior for Palm Computing
platform 5, install Patch 1 and Patch 2 in that order), as well update POSE
to version 2.1d29 from www.palm.com/devzone/pose/seed.html. You will also
need to install the debugger plugin from the same page - after you install
Patch 1 and Patch 2, of course. This should resolve the problem.
