There is a 'wrapper' in OS 3.3 (and 3.5 I think) so the 3.0 serial manager
routines will work on the newer OS's. I have several apps that use the OS
3.0 serial functions and they still work on OS 3.3 and I expect them to
continue to work on OS 3.5 devices. When the new serial routines are
documented (and I have the time) I can later add the new functionality.
I would just use the current serial architecture for the time being unless
someone has some compelling reason not to do so.
