As far as I know there's no unlimited plan, but there are ones with lots 
more minutes. Pricing is definitely a carrier thing. Qualcomm only makes 
the phones and as you know carriers generally charge for air time. (One 
tiny carrier Leap Wireless, offers unlimited plans now, so maybe it will 
change some time).

So there's another good solution for you, Hawke. The Minstrel combined with 
a Palm is almost one device, you get an IP address and can telnet where 
ever your IP packets may roam (but you can't talk on it).
