Not by principle. Hacks are code resources, and as such are stored in a
database. They may, though, allocate memory for their own use, just like
a normal program.

Hacks are meant to change functionality in OS functions. If the change
conflicts with what the application is expecting, it might crash. They
won't crash an app just because they're there, though.
