Thank you, Bob. It works. It wasn't working because I released the power
button too soon (before the message comes out).

Subject: Help resetting Palm V

Hi. I saw your post, and I had a similar problem recently. The hard reset
should work, if you continue holding the power button after resetting it.
When you let go, you should get a "do you want to clear data?" question.

BUT... there are times when this doesn't work as planned. Thus, the last
resort is to let the battery die (if it wasn't a Palm V you just take the
batteries out for 5 minutes or so) by leaving it on, and it will be
guaranteed to clear the memory and be back to factory settings.

Good luck,
bob

ps: I remember you from the Palm training class mailing list. I actually
missed the classes, but I saw you on the list. Did you feel that the class
was worthwhile? I may still take it, but I'm not sure.

Subject: Help - Palm Device Reset/Hard Reset

Hi all,

Can someone help me reset my Palm device (Palm V). I tried both soft reset
and hard reset (hold down power and press reset, release power and then
release reset). No matter what I did, the Palm Computing Platform screen is
always there.
