You can't write to the storage heap (Dm memory) except through the Dm API. The primary
routine to use is DmWrite. This is done to protect the storage heap from damage due to
errant applications (and hacks). The simulator doesn't enforce this restriction, but
the emulator and device do. What you may want to do is build an image of your new
record in the dynamic heap and then copy it all into the new record in the storage
heap with a single call to DmWrite. That will reduce the overhead. However, if your
records can be large, this technique isn't advisable.
