Right, it is a new version of the Palm OS software, version 3.5. You can
get a beta build of the software from the Development Services Seeding
program; see http://www.palm.com/devzone/pavilion.html
Old software should work fine, so long as they were using the documented
APIs and weren't making assumptions about hardware or the screen. But by
all means, do test your apps with the new OS since our debug roms now have
additional checking that can expose hard-to-reproduce bugs in applications.
