Hi,

I've been programming on the Palm for about a week now and so far, it's
nice. Using the GNU compiler and I like it ! BTW, I posted a question
regarding a strange error the gcc compiler was giving me. Turns out, I
pasted some code into my file and the pasted code came over with only LFs no
CR LF pair. My editor didn't complain and it didn't save the code with a CR
LF pair as it should. Only by looking at the raw file in HexEdit did I find
the problem.

Anyway, I've just started working with field controls and I'm a little
cautious. What are the bare bones steps to setting up a field so that I can
programatically stuff a value in the field ? Specifically, where is the
best place to allocate the memory and deallocate the memory ? Or, am I
making a mountain out of a mole hill ?

TIA,
Eric
