gdb under NT4

Has or is anyone using gdb under Windows NT 4.0 SP4 ?  I've tried to run the
executable and NT virtual DOS machine says it tried to execute an illegal
instruction and terminates the app.  I've found nothing to suggest that gdb
doesn't run under NT so ...
