Hi there,
If there are any gremlin gurus out there, I would appreciate help with the
following 3 questions:
I have been running gremlins via the emulator 3.0a3 on Win-98 and am getting
a "Reading from unallocated chunk" error after approximately 691,000
iterations. This takes about 8 hours to occur on my P1-233. I am using the
GCC comliler with the gdb debugger and can debug the crash after it occurs.
I can restart the run by opening the snapshot at 690,000 and it fails after
only one minute or so. YIPPEE!!
However, when the gremlin run is restarted by dropping the .psf file onto
the emulator window, there is no Gremlins Control window to show progress
and the only way of stopping and stepping is via the right-click menu which
is not very precise.
1. Is there a better way of restarting Gremlins that brings up the normal
control window?
Further the gdb debugger is no longer usable if the computer has been
rebooted, so reruns are pretty useless as debug information cannot be
obtained after subsequent crashes and no breakpoints can be inserted
2. Is there some way of getting gdb to access the restarted app again?
3. If I recompile my app to either fix the problem (when I determine what I
think is causing the problem) or to show additional information or perform
additional checks, do I have to start the 8 hour run again, or is there some
way to get the gremlin run to start from the snapshot but using the
re-compiled app?
Many thanks (in anticipation)
