ASAP reply.

The Symbol device ROMs don't work with POSE yet. They make what amounts to an
illegal call to access the barcode reader. Palm is working on making POSe work
with the Symbol ROMs, but I've not heard a date yet.

Options:

1) Debug on the Symbol device instead of using POSE.

2) If this is really critical, hire a contractor who is a registered developer
with an emulator environment and Symbol experience. There are some around. Your
problem will probably be fixed in only a few contracing hours. $150-500?

3) Not that critical? Go to your neighborhood Staples or XYZ Electronics store
and buy a Palm device. Upload the ROM to POSE, be debugging in an hour at a cost
of $200-300? for the Palm device, or debug on the actual device itself. Don't
buy a Visor or a PRGPro - they have similar problems with POSE and their ROM images.

4) No? Not that critical? Mail order a Palm device from your favorite supplier,
save $50 over option 3. Be debugging in a day if you pay for overnight shipping,
or on Monday or Tuesday.

5) No? Still not that critical? Buy one of the Palm programming books with a ROM
image on it. $30 at your local Borders. Be debugging before bedtime tonight.

6) No? Still not that critical? Wait until Palm processes your application for
access to the ROMs and download them from the Palm website.

Any other means of aquiring ROM images is illegal as far as I know.

Good luck,

-Tim
