Use the Palm OS Emulator (preferably the latest version posted on the
seeding page).  It'll tell you immediately when something is improperly
reading from or writing to the memory manager's structures, in most cases.

Having an application overwrite a buffer is probably the #1 cause for these
sorts of problems... if you write beyond an allocated chunk's end, you have
a good chance of corrupting the memory manager's structures.
