I don't have any problems getting direct cable connection to work with WinNT using RAS, but I am having trouble setting it up in Win98. In Win98, I have the direct cable connection component installed and listening on COM1. Hotsync manager is not running (in case you're thinking that the com port is already being used). When I try to connect from my Palm Vx running OS 3.3, Win98 tells me that it is verifying username and password and then returns back to listening on COM1. The device reports an authentication failure. Has anyone has success doing this? What should the login script be? What should the username and password be? Your help is appreciated. Thanks.
