I'm using CWR5 on a Mac running OS 8.6. Does changing the output file name in the project settings | PalmRez Post Linker have adverse effects? Note that I am referring to the output filename, not to be confused with the application name set in the constructor. I first built an app -- version 1.0 -- with an output filename "MyApp" and installed it on my Palm. Later, I built version 2.0 and realized the output name would be more accurate if I called it "MyAppLite". This name change was for internal use only as the user does not see this change. Yet, when I installed version 2.0 on the Palm, it did not overwrite version 1.0. When I viewed the application info on the Palm, there were two versions present. I did not change the creator or type fields. I did flip the copy-protect bit off but that shouldn't produce this weird result. When I repeated this experiment on POSE, I got the same result. Resetting POSE seemed to enable version 2.0. When I repeated this scenario using the original name "MyApp," version 2.0 installed over version 1.0 just fine. Did I miss something in the docs? Or am I doomed to always use the same output filename for the life of the application? Regards, Michael Yam www.ytechnology.com
