Happens on both Palm 7 itself, and on 30a3 (and earlier 21d29) simulator. With simulator, happens only about once a day, with the first use of that pqa on the simulator, irrespective of resets, exit & restart, changing IP address of machine on which simulator is running, restarting our web serve, etc. The problem is never seen via a normal web browser. The pqa contains a form requesting username and password. On form submission, the receiving system says username and password are null, and throws an ioexception on the input stream saying "invalid content length". As programmed in my code, an error page is then returned, containing the equivalent of the form in the pqa, along with a error message. Submitting via this form always succeeds. Alternatively, ignoring that form, and returning to the pqa and resubmitting usually works. Even if the second pqa attempt fails (very few times), any subsequent use of the pqa will work. On a machine running the simulator, the only way I seem to be able to reproduce this problem is by waiting until the next morning! On the single Palm 7 we have, a few hours wait seems to do. Makes figuring out how to avoid this a slow process. Since shutting down the simulator or Palm 7, and restarting our web servers has no effect, I've become suspicious of the proxy server. There seems to clearly be some sort of initialization problem, but apparently not on the devices in the system that I, personally, can initialize. That seems to leave the proxy server... "post" method is used for submission. username is "text" type and password is "password" type. The pqa contains only palm acceptable HTML. -- For information on using the Palm Developer Forums, or to unsubscribe, please see http://www.palm.com/devzone/mailinglists.html
