Just a minor nit, but I believe the 36 pixel minimum width has been
implemented for a long time, definitely since at least OS 3.0.  I've always
used that as my UI design standard, making all form buttons be minimum 36 x
13, with the same layout and spacing rules as alerts, and it does look a lot
more polished than apps with ragged button sizes.

I'd even suggest adding this to the Palm user interface guideline
documentation (such as it is).  IMHO, there are a lot of apps with shaggy UI
layouts that could really benefit from just a little attention to minor
details like this.
