Noah: I have had no hotsync problems with the Palm Vx. I determined the error number by printing it out in a fatal error message. The value was 1290, which I looked up in the system header files, and it corresponds to sysErrLibNotFound. I also found that refnum is always returned as 65535. Do you have trouble hotsynching with that Palm, or have you gotten any other indications that communication through the serial port may not be working properly? Also, how did you determine what your specfic error was? Is it possible that the error you're receiving is actually a "serErrAlreadyOpen" error? (Unlikely I know.) Is there more info I could chew on?
