I don't think these have anything to do with each other. The ethernet
cradle interfaces with the Palm using the regular serial port, just like
any other cradle.
Ethernet card support directly in the OS would require some kind of driver
or something.
1 uses all the stuff that's already there (standard serial port), the
other (what TRG is presumably talking about) requires changes to the OS.
